No, I cannot domain unjoin the machine as that looses your profile and I have wasted enough time already on trying to upgrade this machine without having to recreate my profile.Īlready upgraded three other machines successfully so its not as if I am not up to speed with the issues with upgrading to windows 10. Not sure how much upgrade capability checking that the media creation tool actually does so I have no current way of checking what might be the cause of the issue thanks to the wonderful decision to bar domain joined machines in this part of the process. No I cannot use the official upgrade icon as the machine is domain joined for a home network so the icon doesn't show or offer to do anything. This is all via the media creation tool which after a lot of issues actually started to do what it is meant to do. I can't find any other references to this here, on the upgrade FAQ etc. Unfortunately it doesn't actually tell me what the underlying reason is, just shows this error number.

Tried uninstalling all extraneous software including all of the Lenovo additions.Ĭhecked out the Lenovo support site and it doesn't offer any advise which I haven't already tried. There is between 20G and 25G free when trying the upgrade.

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad 8 which I have repeatably tried to upgrade to Windows 10 including the preview releases but each time has failed at some point or other in the upgrade process. )but it was suggested as it involves a domain joined machine that I post I here. I have asked this over on the main Windows 10 forum (
